Living IN Purpose

I have really been working on eliminating my plastic consumption, trying to keep things out of the landfill, and making as much as I can from scratch. This has been annoying my children to no end, because there are certain things I won’t buy for them now because they come in a lot of plastic packaging. One day my older son said to me, “you know it doesn’t make any difference, right mom? Everyone else is still just throwing plastic away anyways.” To which I responded;
I’m not really that concerned with what other people are doing. I can only live my life in a way that feels right to me, and in accordance with my values. At the end of my life, when I look back on the way I have lived, I only have to answer my to myself for the decisions I made, and I want to know that I lived my life in a way that had purpose and meaning for me, even if no one else sees it. And the fortunate byproduct of living a life this way

is that by living in accordance with your values, you can often give other people the courage to do the same.
